In overall very good condition. Re-lined and restored in the last 10-20 years,some evidence of overpainting. Antique frame good, some minor losses mostly self coloured Peter Lely (1618-1680) Peter Lely was a Dutch painter who spent most of his career in England as a portrait painter to the court. Lely's portraits were well received, and he succeeded Anthony van Dyck as the most fashionable portrait artist in England.
