19th century oil on canvas painting of a monk sitting on the river bank with a sandwich on his knee and a fishing rod to the side
A very peaceful scene by the well known artist Frank Hyde . The painting is signed and housed in a gilt moulded frame,
The size of the image is 53cm high 35cm wide whilst overall size is 62cm x 79cm
In very good condition with no overpainting or restoration to the canvas.

Frank Hyde (1849–1937) was a British portrait and figure painter. He was a war artist and portrait painter, best known for his works of Capri. He also created comic characters for greeting cards for Raphael Tuck. He is also known for many paintings of monks
